More than 80% of Kiev residents name high prices for food and services as one of their main economic problems.
This is stated in a survey by the Center for Applied Research, commissioned by the Center for Urban Development.
According to the study, the main problems of Kiev residents are:
high prices for food and services – 83.8% of respondents;
high fuel prices – 77.8% of respondents;
high tariffs – 77.4% of respondents;
poor environmental situation – 71.8% of respondents.

According to the data, 39.4% of respondents work as usual, as before February 24, 19% work remotely or partially, and 10.8% have found a new job. 34% of respondents do not work yet.
Also, when asked about preparing for the heating season, 18.4% of Kiev residents buy heaters, 16.2% insulate their homes. 32.4% of the residents of the capital believe that the preparations for the heating season should be done by the authorities.

A third of the respondents (30.9%) assess the financial condition of their household as only enough for essentials, 44.6% are enough for food, essentials and clothing, 11.8% can afford to buy equipment and go on vacation regularly.

Only 10.6% of respondents say that they do not have enough money for basic necessities and food.
The survey was conducted from 10 to 23 August 2022. A total of 1017 people were interviewed using the face-to-face method.
