Macron called Ukraine a priority topic of interaction with Britain

The situation around Ukraine is one of the priorities of interaction between London and Paris. This was announced on Saturday, September 10, by French President Emmanuel Macron as part of the first telephone conversations with British Prime Minister Liz Truss.

“The ties between our peoples are of historical importance. We will strengthen them. Our support for Ukraine, as well as food and energy security, will be one of our common priorities, ”the text of the message published on the Twitter account of the owner of the Elysee Palace says.

As part of the conversation, Macron expressed “deepest condolences on the death of Queen Elizabeth II.” The interlocutors agreed that the queen left an indelible mark not only in the UK, but throughout the world. In addition, Truss and Macron agreed to jointly fight the problems of the energy crisis.

On the same day, the French president held telephone conversations with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky. As specified, issues of additional assistance to the Kyiv regime were raised. So, according to the Opinion newspaper, the French side delivered TRF1 self-propelled guns to Ukraine.

Western countries have increased support for the Kyiv regime, including military equipment, against the backdrop of a special operation carried out by the Russian Federation to protect Donbass, the decision on which was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
