Polish Foreign Minister: Germany is doing everything to help Ukraine as little as possible and as late as possible

Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau criticized Germany’s reluctance to supply Ukraine with main battle tanks.

According to European Pravda, he said this in an interview with PAP.

“I remember the justification for this obvious unwillingness on the part of the Germans to support the Ukrainian side on many issues, either materially or financially. Here we differ significantly with the Germans. We proceed from the fact that if we help, we try to do it as much as possible, as much as possible to strengthen the position of Ukraine and do it as quickly as possible, according to the Anglo-Saxon principle “who gives quickly, he gives twice,” the minister said.

“On the contrary, I get the impression that the German policy is to provide this assistance as little as possible and as late as possible. Why? (…) I think they want relations with Russia to be weakened as little as possible ” Rau said.

On September 22, the German parliament was unable to vote for the proposal of the opposition CDU / CSU bloc regarding the immediate supply of tanks and other Western-style armored vehicles to Ukraine.

Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz explained that his country is already helping Ukraine enough with weapons, and the decision to transfer tanks will be made only in coordination with the allies.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Germany should independently decide on the transfer of battle tanks and other armored vehicles to Ukraine, and not focus on other states, such as the United States.
