Russian captain dies on ship in Egyptian port of El Arish

The Russian captain died on a ship in the Egyptian port of El Arish in the Sinai Peninsula. This was announced on Thursday, September 1, by the Maritime Bulletin portal.

“He (the captain) lost consciousness and died, his body was transferred to the El Arish hospital for forensic examination and investigation necessary to send the body to Russia,” the message says.

According to preliminary data, the 63-year-old man died “of natural causes.”

At the same time, it is noted that the ship has not been identified, but it is known that there is only one ship in El Arish now – the dry cargo ship Gulf Blue, which arrived at the port on August 30 and was moored on September 1.

The vessel sails under the flag of Antigua and is operated by a Turkish company.

Izvestia has no confirmation of this information.
