Student died during bad weather in Kursk

In Kursk, a college student died during the passage of a cyclone with strong winds. This was announced on Sunday, September 18, in the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Kursk region.

The department clarified that the deceased was a student of an automotive technical college, writes the Federal News Agency.

The body of a young man born in 2004 was found in a dormitory located on 3rd Industrial Lane.

On this fact, the Seim inter-district investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Kursk region is conducting a pre-investigation check.

According to the department, the deceased was alone in the dorm room. During a strong wind, a fragment of a tree damaged a window, the glass of which fell into the student’s abdomen, writes RT. He died on the spot due to his injuries.

According to local residents in social networks, as a result of bad weather, a hostel in the Volokno district was destroyed.

The administration of the Kursk region expressed condolences to the families and friends of the deceased, writes Life.ru.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that hurricane-force winds damaged the roofs of shops and homes. Fallen trees, fences and power lines were also recorded.

According to the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations, on September 18, the Kursk region fell into a thunderstorm front, due to strong winds in Kursk and four districts, power outages were recorded, a total of 739 houses were left without electricity. In addition, according to operational data, 18 trees fell in the Course, the roof of 17 buildings was damaged, the Zvezda TV channel notes.
