The government plans to allocate 400 million in aid for the Kharkiv region: what will they spend on

The relevant ministries and the Kharkiv Regional Military District were instructed to prepare for the government meeting the issue of allocating UAH 400 million to restore damaged facilities and to help the de-occupied territories.

This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmigal following a meeting on the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Regional Development, the Ministry of Finance and Naftogaz.

At the meeting, Shmihal instructed the Minister of Energy, the Minister of Communities and Territories Development, together with Naftogaz and Ukrenergo, to create a coordinating headquarters within the State Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies.

“The task of the headquarters is the prompt elimination of the consequences of military destruction of the energy and utility infrastructure. They must be ready for any scenarios,” Shmihal explained.

In addition, he stressed, the restoration needs additional financial resources. Consequently, the Ministry of Regional Development, the Ministry of Finance and the Kharkiv OVA were instructed to prepare for the next government meeting the issue of allocating UAH 400 million from the reserve fund of the budget for the restoration of damaged facilities and for assistance to the de-occupied territories.
