“The training course for the mobilized is taking place with increased intensity, during the training period, each trainee will use at least 600 live rounds and five grenades in the course of single training,” the ministry said.

On October 20, Russian President Vladimir Putin checked the progress of training of those mobilized at the training ground of the Western Military District in the Ryazan Region. The head of state also heard a report from Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

On October 13, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation showed footage of the training of those mobilized in the Moscow region. As noted by the defense department, at the training ground, the mobilized perform firing practice at moving and static targets that imitate the manpower and equipment of a mock enemy. It is clarified that shooting is carried out from all standard weapons.

On October 11, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu checked the progress of training of those mobilized at the training grounds of the Western Military District (ZVO). Thus, the head of the defense department drew attention to the quality of practical training of those mobilized for combat operations as part of the “units for securing the liberated territories” in the rear areas of the NVO zone.

Partial mobilization in Russia was announced on 21 September.
