Ukraine expects ammunition from Germany to protect critical infrastructure

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal announced the threat of a new wave of refugees to Europe in connection with the constant shelling of critical infrastructure by Russia.

He said this in an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung, reports “European Truth” with reference to the Stuttgarter-Nachrichten.

“If there is no more electricity, no heating, no water in Ukraine, this could cause a new migratory tsunami,” he said.

Shmygal accused Russia of wanting to “plunge Ukraine into a humanitarian catastrophe” by attacking its civilian infrastructure.

With this in mind, he asked for “mobile equipment for the production of electricity and heat”, as well as equipment for water treatment. Fuel for generators is still available “for the moment”, “but if there is a large-scale failure in electricity and heat supply, then we will need more.” Then Ukraine will also need to “import electricity” from the West. In addition, the Prime Minister asked Germany to provide further military assistance as soon as possible.

Ukraine is “impatiently” waiting for new ammunition, which is needed “right now,” Shmyhal said.
