Alex Lustig Teases Sophomore Album With Silky New Drum & Bass Single, "Neo"
Collaborator SUMIN steals the show on “Neo” with the haunting resonance of her sugar-sweet vocals.
Alex Lustig has expanded the universe with his latest single, “Neo.”
Created alongside South Korean R&B artist SUMIN, the track is a transfixing blend of introspective ambient music and liquid drum & bass that turns each style on its head. Textures work in tandem to stimulate all five senses: the ghostly resonance of SUMIN’s silky vocal tone; the exhilarating beats of the percussion line; the chords drenched in moonlight, diving deep into the soundscape.
“‘Neo,’ meaning ‘you,’ in Korean, is the moment when our hearts start to flutter is like a shining starlight,” Lustig described in a press release. “SUMIN is singing calmly in voice on a sparkling drum beat. ‘I want to be with you day and night.’”
Serving as a tease of Lustig’s forthcoming sophomore album, Fate (B-Sides), “Neo” proves promising. Lustig has created an entire galaxy with his fingertips, and there’s no telling where he might transport us next.
