Announcing the 2nd annual Colorado Sound Music Awards! – The Colorado Sound

Welcome to the 2nd annual Colorado Sound Music Awards, brought you by Georgia Boys BBQ and Initial Capacity!

Which Colorado musician would you “drive 105.5 miles to see”? Which artist is “on the rise”? Which band has an outstanding “secret ingredient”? These questions and more will be answered by you when you vote in our 2nd annual Colorado Sound Music Awards!

The Colorado Sound Music Awards give you a chance to step up and support some of your favorite Colorado bands and musicians. Voting is open starting today some incredible nominees in five distinct categories.

Meet the 2023 Colorado Sound Music Awards nominees

We think the Colorado music scene is second to none, and so the Colorado Sound Music Awards are a perfect way to showcase the extremely talented and hard-working musicians in our state. 

And this year, the winners will be announced live during our first-ever Colorado Sound Music Awards ceremony! The event takes place Nov. 6 the Boulder Theater in Boulder, Colo., and it includes live performances from Gasoline Lollipops (two-time winner last year), iZCALLi, and 2MX2. Tickets go on sale Friday, Aug. 4.

From now through Sept. 15, Colorado Sound listeners can vote for their favorite Colorado musicians in five unique categories.

• Outstanding Stage Presence
• Outstanding ‘Secret Ingredient’
• Colorado Artist You’d Drive 105.5 Miles to See

Meet the nominees

Our 2023 nominees page also features short profiles on the Colorado artists nominated in each category. Note that the fifth category, Colorado Artist You’d Drive 105.5 Miles to See, is a write-in category. 

In addition, this year we are debuting our Lifetime Achievement Award by honoring longtime Colorado on-air personality, and creator and host of the Colorado Playlist, Chris K.
