Bryce Young expected to land with Houston Texans if Bears hold first overall pick

Former Alabama quarterback Bryce Young is expected to be the first quarterback selected in the upcoming 2023 NFL draft. Just before the end of the 2022 regular season, Young was also expected to be the first overall selection in the draft.

The Chicago Bears ended up landing the No. 1 spot and currently hold a valuable pick, as numerous teams beneath the Bears inside the top 10 are in need of a quarterback.

A trade is expected by many, considering Chicago will likely select a defensive player and a QB-needy team will pay the price to move up.

However, Luke Easterling of DraftWire has the Bears staying put at No. 1 selecting Alabama outside linebacker Will Anderson Jr., which allows Young to be the very next pick and land with the Houston Texans.

The Texans selected former Alabama wide receiver John Metchie III in the 2022 NFL draft, but he was sidelined before the season began after a leukemia diagnosis. It is also being reported that Houston is zeroing in on hiring San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator and former Alabama linebacker DeMeco Ryans as the franchise’s next head coach.

With plenty of Alabama connections in Houston, Young may feel right at home.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Young and other former Alabama players as they prepare for the 2023 NFL draft.
