Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion have been tapped to appear at the upcoming 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.
It was announced on Saturday that the 30-year-old Bronx native and 28-year-old Texan – who just dropped their new single Bongos – will take the stage to perform the tune at the annual awards show.
The event, which is airing live from the Prudential Center in New Jersey on September 12 at 8pm EST, will be hosted by Nicki Minaj.
Bongos is the pair’s follow-up to their 2020 smash hit WAP, which they performed at the 2021 VMAs.
Other acts who will perform at this year’s production include Anitta, Demi Lovato, Doja Cat, Karol G, Kelsea Ballerini, Lil Wayne, and Olivia Rodrigo.
The news comes as the two music artists continue to promote the song on social media.
This weekend Cardi dropped in on Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes reel from the making of the Bongos music video.
The mother-of-two wrote in the caption to her 168 million followers, ‘A lil bts….’
The post has already collected over one million likes from the New Yorker’s loyal fanbase.
And on Friday Megan delighted fans as she shared multiple stunning photos from the set of the video.
In the caption she used a lyric from one of her verses in the song, writing, ‘Thee way they watch me need to be monetized.’
Like Cardi’s most recent upload, Megan’s was also double tapped over one million times.
Before releasing the drum-heavy song on Friday, the ladies spent the week getting fans excited for it.
In separate Instagram posts, the two Grammy-winning artists shared different versions of the single’s artwork with followers.
One post showed the women lying on their sides in brightly colored netted bodysuits with Cardi teasing, ‘BONGOS this Friday.’
The trendsetting hitmakers stayed true to their signature sexy branding as they posed in an interlocked stance.
Cardi — born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar — wore a purple version of the one-piece look while Megan was in green.
