Drake Milligan Issues Health Update After Being Hospitalized For Injuries Following Tour Van Collision

Drake Milligan was forced to cancel a recent concert after he and his band were hospitalized with injuries sustained in a tour van collision.

The season 17 America’s Got Talent finalist and his band members were in route to the Two Step Inn Festival in Georgetown, Texas on Sunday (April 16), when a car struck their tour van causing them to crash into a cement median.

The crash left Milligan and several of his bandmates injured, however, the extent of their injuries currently remains unknown. The “Sounds Like Something I Do” singer and his touring cohorts were hospitalized for their injuries and have since been released.

Drake Milligan Issued A Health Update With Fans

Following the accident, the 2023 Music Mayhem Artist To Watch took to social media to share an update with fans.

“Happy to report that we’re all upright and heading home. Milligan wrote in a statement on Instagram. ”We got in quite the fender bender on the way to @twostepinn, but we’re all on the mend.”

Milligan continued to showcase his appreciation for the fans’ kind words and prayers as he and his band recover from the incident.

“We really appreciate all the love and well wishes,” the 24-year-old singer added.

He went on to graciously thank Mark Bogart, who is the owner of the outdoor and sporting goods company, Ranch King Blinds, who was able to get him and his band home safely.

“A special thank you to Mark Bogart with @mbranchkingblinds who got the boys back to Nashville safely. Another big thank you to the fine folks with the Two Step Inn festival who immediately sent a truck to us to put all of our gear in. Lots to be grateful for! We’re gonna rest up, see y’all at @stagecoach real soon!”

Bogart responded to Milligan’s social media post in the comments, saying “Happy to help out! Keep on keeping on!”

Fans Wished Drake Milligan Well

Meanwhile, dozens of fans quickly took to the comments to send well-wishes to Milligan and his band.

“SO GLAD to hear y’all are all on the mend!!!” one fan wrote, while another added, “Glad that yous are all ok ” 

Another one of his followers shared, “My family and I join all the others in thankfulness that you and your band are safe! We’re grateful for each of those who stepped up to help y’all!

The circumstances of life can change in a moment! The good news is, God is ever-present through it all!” 

Other fans wrote: “So glad to know you’re all safe & on the mend,” “So glad you guys are all ok! Rest up and you’re gonna rock it at Stagecoach!” and “So glad y’all are ok. That was horrible.”

To Perform At Stagecoach, Recently Appeared At CMT Music Awards

After he recovers from his injuries, Milligan will head to Indio, CA to perform at Stagecoach. He will take the T-Mobile Mane Stage on Friday, April 28. 

Drake Milligan recently attended the CMT Music Awards, where he was nominated for his first-ever award. The Fort Worth native was up for Male Breakthrough Male Artist Of The Year at the coveted awards show. 

“This is my first time being nominated for a CMT, first time here at the awards, [my] first awards show period,” he said on the CMT Music Awards red carpet. ”So, I’m so glad I could be here at the CMT [Awards]. This is really full-circle for me. I got my start on Sun Records on CMT when I was 17. CMT has really kind of allowed me a career and to be back here in my home state of Texas and back where it all started with CMT, that’s a pretty good feeling. So, I’m a little nervous, but I’m just trying to enjoy it. Everybody’s been so nice.”

Drake Milligan, who finished in third place on Season 17 of America’s Got Talent, released his debut full-length album, Dallas / Fort Worth, on Thursday (Sept. 15).
