England could name an unchanged team from the side that thrashed New Zealand in the last match.

Gus Atkinson took four wickets on debut, while Yorkshire’s Harry Brook continues to make his omission from the World Cup squad look baffling with a rapid 67 off 36 balls.

Buttler has told Brook that the door is open for him to be included in the World Cup squad.

Speaking after the win in Manchester, he said: “He is playing brilliantly well, and I thought the way he played tonight, the other night, all credit must go to him.

“There is obviously a lot of noise around the World Cup and him not being in that squad at the moment, but for him to go and play the way he does, he is no different in the dressing room – nothing seems to affect him.

“There is a long time from now until we get on the plane and you never know what can happen. At the minute, he is not in the squad, but you never know what can happen.”
