Football news LIVE: Man United banish Sancho, Arsenal star Rice on FIFA The Best shortlist, Tottenham boss Postecoglou nominated for coach award, Maguire’s mum hits back at abuse
Arsenal’s Declan Rice has been included on the shortlist for FIFA’s ‘The Best’ men’s player award, while Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou is nominated for the manager gong.
It’s the eighth edition of the award, which was created after FIFA’s partnership with the famed Ballon d’Or ended in 2016.
The shortlists for each award were nominated by a panel of football experts and based on player’s or coach’s achievements over the course of a year.

Meanwhile, four of England’s Lionesses stars have been nominated for the women’s player award, Mary Earps is in the running for goalkeeper of the year, while England Women boss Sarina Wiegman and Chelsea Women manager Emma Hayes have both been nominated for the women’s coach trophy.
