If Detroit Lions could make 1 big move in NFL free agency, who would you want? Vote now

What should the Detroit Lions do in free agency? And what will they do?

That’s the question everyone is asking about all 32 teams with the start of the new league year Wednesday, which officially opens free agency and trades for all players entering the 2023 season.

Much of the focus to this point has been on the 2023 NFL draft at the end of April, where the Lions have two first-round picks (read Dave Birkett’s new mock draft). General manager Brad Holmes has shown a frugal approach to spending in his first two offseasons, but the Lions now have shown they’re competitive, with bigger success expected in 2023 in a wide open NFC, after finishing the season 9-8 after a 1-6 start and just missing the playoffs.

The Lions currently have around $18 million in cap space, according to overthecap.com.

STAY OR GO:What should Detroit Lions do with key 2023 free agents?

There are a handful of intriguing players who would fit the Lions’ needs, including at every level of the defense, including the porous secondary. And the 2019 NFL MVP, 26-year-old Lamar Jackson, can potentially be had for two future first-round picks (Baltimore would have the right to match the contract offer).

So here’s our question to Lions fans: If the Lions could only make one big addition before the draft, which would you want to see happen? Vote in the poll below and feel free to explain why in the comment section. If you choose “none of the above,” let us know your other preferred move in the comments.
