Soaring Eagle Nominated For Casino Of The Year

Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort is up for an Academy of Country Music Award.

The Mount Pleasant casino has been nominated in the category of “Casino of the Year — Theater,” for its entertainment venue by the ACMs. This marks the third time that Soaring Eagle has been nominated for the honor, and a win would be its first.

The 58th ACM Awards show will be held May 11, in Frisco, Texas. It will be hosted by Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks. It will be livestreamed exclusively on Prime Video starting at 8 p.m.

Soaring Eagle seeks first ACM award

Soaring Eagle is one of five venues nominated in its category. The others include: Deadwood Mountain Grand in Deadwood, SD; Golden Nugget in Lake Charles, La.; Resorts World Theatre at Resorts World Las Vegas; and Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla.

The Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort is owned and operated by the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, and was opened in 1998. Over the past decade-plus, many of the biggest artists in country music have appeared on stage at Soaring Eagle, including Luke Bryan, Dustin Lynch, Vince Gill, and Kane Brown.

Soaring Eagle features two venues for concerts: a 3,260-seat indoor concert hall; and the Soaring Eagle Outdoor Arena, which can accommodate 11,000 general admission attendees and more than 5,000 reserved seating.

While Michigan casinos do host major entertainers, Soaring Eagle’s venues are considered by many as the premier locations for music attractions north of Detroit. Every summer, it hosts the “Outdoor Concert Series,” which this year will feature Willie Nelson, Jelly Roll, James Taylor, and others.
