Sterling Public Library offering new Music and Movement program – Journal Advocate
Sterling Public Library will offer a new program called Music and Movement on Sept. 25 at 3:00 p.m. The program is designed for babies to 3rd grade. Music and movement is an important part of a child’s development. The program will encourage kids and their adults to get moving.
The library will also offer Long Term Care at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28. Sterling Health and Rehab will present the program. There will be time for questions following the presentation.
The library is offering Take and Makes again this fall. Projects will be put out each Tuesday. Pick up a craft project to do at home.
The library will also celebrate National Library Card Sign-up Month during September. We encourage you to get a library card and use it. A library card is the smartest card you can carry. Your first card at Sterling Public Library is free. To obtain the card you need to visit the library, bring identification with your current address and fill out a simple registration card. It takes only a minute and is ready to use immediately.
There are so many things you can do at the library with your card such as using computers in the library, using online databases to learn a new language, using software programs such as Cypress Resume to help you create your new resume plus much more.
This year the library has partnered with some of our local businesses who are helping us celebrate during the month. The businesses are providing various discounts when you show your library card. During the week of Sept. 17 to 23 Hot Java Coffee is giving $1.00 off drinks and J&L Café is offering buy 1 meal and get ½ off the second meal. Be sure to get a library card if you don’t have one and stop by these businesses.
