UN Security Council to hold three meetings on Ukraine in September

France, which will chair the UN Security Council in September, has scheduled two meetings in connection with the situation in Ukraine.

According to European Pravda, this was stated at a press conference on Thursday by France’s permanent representative to the UN, Nicolas de Riviere.

“On the morning of September 22, the French Foreign Minister (Catherine Colonna) will chair the ministerial meeting of the UN Security Council on Ukraine, the main theme of which will be impunity and justice,” the diplomat said.

He later specified that the meeting “will touch upon all the parameters of the Ukrainian crisis.”

The ministerial meeting of the UN Security Council is being held at the level of the heads of foreign affairs agencies – thus, Dmitry Kuleba and Sergey Lavrov should be present at it.

Riviere added that another meeting of the UN Security Council will be held on September 7, dedicated to the forced displacement of people in Ukraine. It is organized at the request of the United States of America and Albania.

The Permanent Representative of France to the UN also commented on the information about the meeting of the Security Council convened by Russia on the situation at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
