Virtual Riot Drops Ruthless Edit of Skrillex, Fred again… and Flowdan's "Rumble"

With hypnotic yet ferocious sound design, Virtual Riot’s “Rumble” flip is nuanced bass music at its finest.

The aftershock of “Rumble” is still rippling.

After Skrillex, Fred again.. and Flowdan finally released their long-awaited collaboration in early January, the music production community pounced on it like birds to a breadcrumb. Countless remixes of the track have appeared since, but it’s safe to say this one takes the cake.

Dubstep and bass music virtuoso Virtual Riot has now shared his take on the eruptive “Rumble,” which appeared on Skrillex’s scintillating sophomore album, Quest For Fire. And it’s nothing short of breathtaking.

Virtual Riot performs at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on January 28th, 2023.

When it comes to his “Rumble” flip, Virtual Riot does what he does best: produce nuanced bass music with hypnotic yet ferocious sound design. He twists and mutates the track’s distinctive frenetic bass stabs, producing a bloodthirsty banger with the glitchy verve of a classic Virtual Riot record.
