Sandown betting tips
3.05: Duke’s Command 13/8 (2pts)
This is a huge price to get on early for this Godolphin horse that set the owners back 1,600,000gns, who is supremely bred and should have a great chance under the in-form jockey James Doyle.
He’s ridden 11 winners from just 33 rides in the last two weeks and has a real chance of adding a few more at this busy meeting.
3.40: Knight 3/1 (1pt)
As far as listed races go this one is incredibly competitive with some top-rated horses being entered into it.
Soft ground is the big factor here, potentially an overriding one for some horses that would usually win if it were good or firm.
Chindit stands out after his big victory at Haydock just 11 days prior to this run and that was ahead of the well fancied Light Infantry.
But the horse has often been withdrawn when the ground is soft and so can’t be risked siding with this time.
Knight is well in in the weights and has form on soft, including in Group 2 company last time behind Angel Bleu, he also gets the weight allowance for being three-years-old and with Doyle on board once more leads the field as the favourite.

Eydon is intriguing too, on his first start for Andrew Balding and it’s taken a while for this promising Group 1 runner to return after 508 days away. He may need the run and that would explain his big price.
That being said if the market follows him in on the day, you shouldn’t be opposed to having two bets on the day with this tip and Eydon each-way as insurance.
But the numerous factors for Knight including first-time cheekpieces suggest he’s got to be backed at this nice 3/1 price.
Yarmouth betting tips
3.10: Edge Of Blue 11/4 (1pt)
Trainer Charlie Appleby has a fair few runners today including the horse that set Godolphin back a few hundred thousand, and some.
But William Buick isn’t on that horse today and instead rides a couple of two-year-olds who look like they have plenty of potential.
Edge Of Blue is one that is a great price in this field of 12 in the Future Stayers Maiden Stakes.
The son of Blue Point, who is by Galileo, has already been gelded ahead of his first run and is one of six runners for Buick and one of seven from Appleby.
3.45: Al Asifah 11/10 (2pts)
It’s the Shadwell colours teaming up with Jim Crowley once more and he’s in need of a winner.
The Frankel filly was a surprising sixth place, over eight lengths off the winner at Royal Ascot last time out but if back on song today, especially against arguably weaker field she should be very hard to beat.
Her first two starts this season saw her win by nearly five lengths and over six lengths in listed company next time, and that form has worked out pretty well considering that deficit, and she’s more fancied going back in trip to her preferred 1m2f.
Listowel betting tips
4.25: Chemical Energy 16/1 each-way (1pt)
This could be stubbornness backing this horse again – having disappointed at both Fairyhouse in April and Naas in January.
But in between that put in a huge run to come second behind Gaillard Du Mesnil.
If he can find some consistency this season while progressing on from last year where he just blew hot or cold, he could be a real star for Gordon Elliott’s yard.
He’s won over this course, as well as over this distance and has the stamina many of these haven’t yet established, and is one of the few that looks worthy of siding with each-way in this mightily difficult and competitive Grade 3, Guinness Kerry National.
Kelso betting tips
4.05: Cracking Destiny 7/1 each-way (1pt)
Netywell could be a decent price for this, as the Lucinda Russell-trained horse is given 19lb from the top-weight Geromino, but he’s only ever won and really performed at his best on heavy ground.
He will get a fair amount of rain but it may not be enough for it to be as soft as he would like.
It seems as though the ground concerns may just open it up for Cracking Destiny, who wasn’t disgraced back in fourth in a Class 2 last time behind Hang In There. Steps back down in class for this one and has won before on soft. Looks a great each-way punt.
5.50: Sebastopol 11/10 (1pt)
Grade 2-winning horse returned to hurdles last time out in some style winning at 7/1. After beating Stage Star in November that horse went on to win the Turners’ Novices’ Chase at Cheltenham Festival and has boosted this horse’s form considerably.
He reappeared over fences at Newbury, that time in a Grade 3 but fell at the 10th fence – though was up against some top-rated chasers like Paint The Dream and Zanza.
Upped 6lb for that victory at Newton Abbot last time and that’s not too surprising, so will have to defy top-weight once more, but this looks similarly comfortable for him, although there does still seem to be risked attached with his jumping.
