WWE Raw results, recap, grades: The Bloodline and Judgement Day make a short-term business deal

The two most dominant factions in WWE went into business together on Monday night when The Bloodline and Judgement Day came to an agreement on Raw. While The Bloodline agreed to take out Rey Mysterio, it was on The Judgement Day to take out Matt Riddle, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.

The two groups were looking to solve others’ problems while also building toward some big potential showdowns at the May 6 Backlash event.

While The Bloodline held up their end of the deal, Judgement Day fell short, resulting in a chaotic end to the show.

CBS Sports was with you all night with recaps and highlights of all the action from Simmons Bank Arena in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

The Bloodline and Judgement Day make a deal

Solo Sikoa def. Rey Mysterio Jr. via pinfall with a Samoan Spike. The match was the result of a short-term business deal between The Bloodline and The Judgement Day, which Paul Heyman said was approved by Roman Reigns. The LWO saved Mysterio from an Uso attack during the match, but it did not matter as Sikoa won moments later and then the group beat down the LWO members. Later in the evening, Heyman asked the members of The Judgement Day if they were satisfied with Sikoa holding up The Bloodline’s end of the deal by taking out Mysterio and became flustered when Finn Balor only offered up a single “meh” in response.

Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn & Matt Riddle def. Damian Priest, Finn Balor & Dominik Mysterio via pinfall. Rhea Ripley blasted Owens with a clothesline outside the ring early in the match. Ripley would continue to interfere when Zayn, Owens and Riddle would grab the advantage. Finally, the referee ejected Ripley from ringside. Owens hit both Balor and Priest with stunners, Zayn hit Balor with a Helluva Kick and then Riddle finished things off with a Floating Bro. As soon as the match was over, The Bloodline ran in to attack only for Rey Mysterio and the LWO to run in as well, leading to a wild brawl between the various groups as the show went off the air.

In a way, it’s the same old story week in, week out. The Bloodline wins because they play the numbers game better than anyone — even if there are groups that have larger numbers. However, there’s something to be said for a one-week wrinkle like doing business with The Judgement Day. It’s a simple twist but one that just adds a little something new to a formula that is quickly losing steam. Also, it’s rare to get a brawl involving as many people as what WWE offered up to end the show. These were little things but little things add up. Grade: B

What else happened on WWE Raw?

  • Bianca Belair def. Dakota Kai via pinfall with the K.O.D. IYO SKY, who earned a title shot last week, was ringside with Bayley to watch the third member of Damage CTRL come up short against the Raw women’s champion.
  • Cody Rhodes failed to get his hands on Brock Lesnar. Rhodes came to the ring and called out Lesnar. Instead, he was met by Adam Pearce who tried to get Rhodes to leave the ring, saying Rhodes was not medically cleared but he could face Lesnar at Backlash. That wasn’t good enough for Rhodes, as he took out two waves of security guards in an attempt to get to Lesnar once Lesnar emerged from the back and stood at the top of the entrance ramp before walking off unscathed. Rhodes ended the segment by saying Lesnar is not a cowboy, but a coward.
  • Seth Rollins def. The Miz via pinfall with a stomp.
  • Bobby Lashley vs. Austin Theory ended in a no contest when Bronson Reed attacked. Reed hit both men as Lashley had Theory in The Hurt Lock. Reed continued the assault on Lashley until Lashley briefly reversed things, only to have Theory dropkick him and give the advantage back to Reed. Reed ended the attack with a Tsunami on Lashley.
  • Trish Stratus explained her attack on Becky Lynch. Stratus accused Lynch of taking too much credit for the “women’s revolution” in WWE and did not thank her for opening the door for Lynch’s generation to become major players in WWE.
  • Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville def. Michin & Candice LeRae via pinfall to earn a shot at women’s tag champions Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan.
