Apple has canceled the budget iPhone SE of the fourth generation

Well-known insider Ming-Chi Kuo, who bases his predictions on sources in Apple’s supply chain, reported the possible cancellation of the iPhone SE 4. It was previously believed that this smartphone should be released in 2024, but now the chances of this are extremely slim.

Kuo believes that the reason for abandoning the smartphone may be that Apple’s low-cost phones sold worse than expected. Demand for the iPhone 14 Pro was higher than for the regular iPhone 14 models. And given the expected increase in prices of Apple devices, the new SE series could become much less attractive to buyers who prefer to save.

In the new iPhone SE, the company planned to test its own chips with 5G modems before implementing them in the flagships. But now, all things considered, Apple will continue to use Qualcomm’s solutions — all the way up to the iPhone 16, Kuo added.
