Owners of Android smartphones have been warned about a new dangerous virus

Researchers at mobile security firm ThreatFabric have discovered a new Android malware. The virus is called Hook. This is stated in the ThreatFabric release.

The virus penetrates smartphones and transmits user data to the operator, establishing complete control over the device. The program can view and download messages, contacts, search history and even correspondence from messengers.

Hook’s main target is banking applications belonging to financial organizations around the world. To date, the virus has already been spotted in the US, Spain, Australia, Poland, Canada, Turkey, Great Britain, France, Italy and Portugal.

Experts agree that Hook created the cybercriminal group DukeEugene. They are responsible for the development of other dangerous Android viruses BlackRock and ERMAC.

Interestingly, among cyber criminals, Hook is distributed according to the service model. In the darknet, a ready-made set of hacker tools costs about 7 thousand dollars for one month of use.
