It’s that time of the year again! The City Paper Music Awards nomination round is open now through Aug. 28. Each year, the City Paper recognizes outstanding Holy City talent with 17 categories spotlighting various genres.
During nomination rounds, City Paper voters will submit their picks for each category at vote.charlestoncitypaper.com. The top five nominees in each category will advance to the final voting round, which takes place in September.
After the votes have been tallied, it’s time to rock out at a musical showcase held in November during which winners will be announced.
“The annual City Paper Music Awards allow music enthusiasts to learn about the prolific talent of Charleston’s musicians,” said Andy Brack, editor and publisher of the Charleston City Paper. “And after all of the votes are in, fans of local music can hear winning artists and bands at our special November awards party in what’s one of the year’s best live performance mash-ups of local musical ingenuity.”
