Clarksville-area teenage musician signs with L.A. music label as her … – Clarksville Now

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Sadie Fine is 17 years old and has been playing music around Clarksville and Nashville since she was around 13. As she prepares to graduate from Clarksville High next year, Fine is ready to take that next step in her career.

Fine began her singing career at the young age of three when she moved to the United States from England. Growing up, Fine moved around a lot as her dad is in the military and she landed in Clarksville around the age of 12.

As a kid, Fine played in various sports but never had a passion for anything until she found singing. “Music was the one thing I really enjoyed, and I felt there was something there, so I decided to take it seriously,” Fine said.

When she was young, her parents would post videos to YouTube, which did really well. As she got older, she moved onto perform at sporting events where she would sing the national anthem for crowds as big as 14,000. “I started singing when I was very little and I just really loved it,” Fine said.

Her performing career really took off at the age of 15 when she signed with L.A. based label, Sign from the Universe. While Sadie travels to L.A. to record, her biggest supporters of her music come from nearby.

April Fine, Sadie’s mom, always knew her daughter could sing but never expected her to blow up the way she has. “It’s really cool to watch. We always knew there was a voice there, but we never knew if she could play an instrument or write her own songs,” April Fine said.

Inspiration from personal experiences

Fine has been writing her own songs for years, taking her own personal experiences into the creative process. When she first moved to Clarksville, Fine experienced bullying which drove her to start writing songs and performing live.

Sadie has performed in places such as the iconic Bluebird Café in Nashville and The Basement East but claims her start was at Clarksville’s very own Revel House.

“I don’t think I’d be as confident anywhere else if I hadn’t played in Clarksville,” Fine said. She is also set to play in New York City at the end of September and at the Atlantic Antic festival in October.

Once she graduates high school in 2024, Fine aspires to be a touring artist. Fine strives in her academics as a 4.0 student, as well as creating top songs on Spotify.

With around 90 thousand monthly listeners, Fine has two songs that have over 100,000 streams. Her pop-focused sound differs from the country twang that resonates in nearby Music City Nashville. “I think my style makes me stand out and that’s been really good,” Fine said.

Taking inspiration from Amy Winehouse, Kings of Leon and Olivia Rodrigo, Fine released her EP titled Detox, in which she calls it her not so private diary. The EP includes songs: “Grow Up, Use Me, Detox, Somebody Like You and Anything But Yours.”

Fine’s favorite song off the EP is “Anything But Yours,” which centers around a long-term relationship that resulted in a breakup. “It’s about the true feelings of how I felt during that time. I think a lot of people can relate to it,” Fine said.

Another EP is already in the works for Fine, and her next song is titled “2024”.

“2024” is a fun back to school song which is set to come out mid-to-late August as Fine starts her senior year. Like most highschoolers, Fine is excited to start the next chapter of her life. “I pretty much don’t want to be in school anymore and I can’t wait to graduate,” Fine said.

Recently, Fine performed at The Electric Jane, a live entertainment club in Nashville for a show called School Night. School Night began in 2010 and since then has become one of the most respected live music showcases in the industry.

The show has featured past performances from artists such as Billie Eilish, Hozier and Lizzo. School Night is a huge deal in L.A. according to Fine. “It’s considered a steppingstone for artists,” Fine said.
