Holo Holo California reggae music festival changes venues again, is now set for Toyota Amphitheatre – KCRA Sacramento

A reggae and island music festival organized by Good Vibez Presents is changing venues again as its September date nears. The Holo Holo California music festival is now scheduled to happen at Toyota Amphitheatre in Wheatland on Sept. 9-10.The festival was initially announced for Old Sacramento before promoters announced a change in June to Sutter Health Park nearby in West Sacramento. On Friday, Dan Sheehan with Good Vibez Presents said on social media that the festival would now take place at Toyota Amphitheatre in Wheatland, a location about 35 miles north of downtown Sacramento. “There were some logistical things that we could not overcome and we are making a move,” Sheehan said, noting that the festival’s dates and lineup would not change. “It doesn’t matter about where we’re at. It’s all about the aloha spirit and I feel that we will still have the aloha spirit at the new venue.”In a follow-up post, the festival said it would offer a free shuttle service from Sacramento to the venue and would provide more information soon. “We have heard all your feedback,” the post said. “We understand the transportation & lodging challenges many are currently navigating. Please know we are doing everything we can to help make the transition to the new venue as easy as possible.”Several comments on the post came from people asking about possible refunds. KCRA 3 reached out to the festival’s promoters for more information about the venue changes and whether they would refund those who couldn’t make it out to Wheatland. In a message back they said the change was “due to circumstances beyond our control” but described the new venue as “amazing” with stadium seating or lawn seating. Those who would like a refund must submit a request here by Aug. 11. After that point all ticket holders will be transferred to the new venue and tickets will be non-refundable. Holo Holo joins the Aftershock Festival, the Sol Blume R&B Music Festival and GoldenSky Country Music Festival as the latest festival to come to the Sacramento area. According to the Holo Holo Music Festival website, the inaugural event happened in 2022 at the Frost Amphitheater at Stanford University. This year, the festival is taking place in both Sacramento and Las Vegas “as a natural profession for its fluidity,” Sheehan previously said. The Holo Holo Music Festival features more than a dozen artists, including Kolohe Kai, J Boog, Common Kings, Steel Pulse and Iam Tongi.
