Lindsay Lohan is among the many celebrities who have largely been unsuccessful in navigating fame. Starting as a child actress, she was once among the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood with a net worth equal to $40 million. On multiple instances, Lohan and her parents have called each other out publically and later reconciled.

The Disney star also once famously defended her parents despite earlier calling them responsible for her tumultuous life. However, after all her troubles, family feuds with her parents, drug abuse, and rehabs, the Parent Trap star has recently made her comeback into the world of cinema with Netflix’s Falling for Christmas.

Lindsay Lohan started as a child actress and has ever since pretty much grown up in the public eye. Through her fame and her ‘downfall’, the Mean Girls star has had a pretty bad relationship with her parents, Michael Lohan and Dina Lohan. Her parents divorced backing 2007 but their own legal troubles and drug abuses have impacted their relationship with Lohan. Back in 2013, she famously was quoted as saying,

“I don’t think anything was intentionally done in that way. I hate what a bad rap people give my parents. Because they are just parents, really, at the end of the day trying to stand up for their daughter and themselves. Nobody’s perfect. I love my parents.”

Since then, her relationship with her parents has been a rollercoaster rider, to say the least. Lohan and her mother on different occasions also alleged the actress’s father was abusive growing up and would do drugs which led the actress to turn to drugs as well. He at one point also made Lohan’s number public as well abused her maternal grandparents and threatened to kill her mother.

Lindsay Lohan’s mother too hasn’t been a saint exactly. On multiple occasions, through leaked audio, Lohan was heard calling her mother a devil and accusing her of doing drugs. She also once infamously added and deleted an Instagram story accusing Dina Lohan of abandoning her.

Lately, Lindsay Lohan seems to be on a better rep with her parents, especially her mother who she was recently spotted with.

How Did Lindsay Lohan Lose Her $40 Million Fortune?

Lindsay Lohan once had a fortune of over $40 million. Now worth about $2 million, many speculate it to be the doing of her problematic parents. However, this is far from the truth since the Herbie Fully Loaded star is herself responsible for losing her huge fortune

In trying to become an over-achiever like the stars she was inspired by, through multiple rehab visits and drug abuse, DUIs, extravagant spending, and trying to live a ‘party’ lifestyle, the actress quickly ran out of money and fell under heaps of debt.

While her drug abuse can be traced as the doing of her parent and her problematic personal life, her parents have not been responsible for Lohan losing her money as well as her once successful career. As of now, the actress seems to have mended her ways as she has returned to acting and also welcomed her first child, a son, with husband Bader Shammas earlier this month.
