Lloyd Banks Lays Claim To Being Best Rapper Alive: ‘Ain’t Nobody … – HipHopDX

Lloyd Banks is the latest to join the ever-growing pile of rappers who claim to be the best at a sport that has never had just one winner.

On Monday (October 23), the former G-Unit MC responded to a pair of tweets that referred to his brilliance in the past tense, saying that nothing has changed and that he is still on top of the game.

“There was a point in time that @Lloydbanks was the greatest rapper walking the earth,” a fan tweeted, to which the self-proclaimed PLK (Punchline King) wrote: “Appreciate that, who’s the greatest now?”

When the same person replied that Banks was “special” during G-Unit’s acclaimed mixtape run and that nobody was out-rapping him, the 41-year-old promptly countered with: “Ain’t nobody out rapping me now.”

The following day, after clapping back at a social media user who shut down the rap veteran’s bold claim, the New York rapper tweeted: “I just be having fun engaging with the ppl on MY twitter..and when I do..I’m in the rap blogs [laughing emoji] damn I hope y’all post my new sh!t that fast!!!! Halloween Havoc IV on the way!!”

Last month, 50 Cent took shots at Lloyd Banks during a tour stop of his Final Lap Tour. In a late-September video recap of his show in New Jersey, Fif could be heard dissing his former G-Unit soldiers with jabs at their careers.

“They think this is something? Wait ’til they see Lloyd Banks’ tour,” he joked while backstage at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel. He then targeted Young Buck by saying: “Wait ‘til they see Straight Outta Cashville,” referencing the Tennessee MC’s debut solo album.

50 Cent has been vocal about his grievances with his former signees for years. In his 2020 book, Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter, the mogul said he felt like he could have done a better job at teaching Banks and Yayo “how to evolve and change their habits,” claiming they had “unfulfilled potential.”

“While I was out hustling, Banks was more content staying on his porch and watching the world from there,” he wrote. “Banks wanted things to come to him, as opposed to going out and getting them for himself.

“That’s not me trying to assassinate his character — the guy has ‘Lazy Lloyd’ tattooed on his arm. He literally wears his laziness on his sleeve.”
