Manchester United fans will love what Scott McTominay did for Scotland with Casemiro still out through suspension

Casemiro’s suspension for Manchester United may have left supporters feeling anxious, but they need not worry.

That’s because Scott McTominay has showed that he’s a more than capable replacement with a stunning display for Scotland.

He bagged a brace to help Scotland to a 3-0 win over Cyprus

The central midfielder bagged an impressive brace in their Euro 2024 qualifier against Cyprus, attracting praise for two brilliant finishes in a 3-0 win.

While sticking the ball in the back of the net may not be McTominay’s biggest strength, it has reminded fans of what he could bring in Casemiro’s absence.

The Brazilian was handed a four-match suspension following his sending off against Southampton earlier this month, a huge blow for Erik ten Hag’s side.

Casemiro will miss the upcoming Premier League matches against Newcastle, Brentford and Everton as United push for a top-four finish.

However with McTominay flying high in terms of confidence, fans are hoping that he may just be able to ease the burden of United being without arguably their most important player.

While Casemiro faces another three matches on the sidelines, he’ll certainly have ample opportunity to make up for lost time with United having at least 13 games left this term.

As it stands, the Red Devils are sitting third in the Premier League, three points ahead of fifth-place Newcastle.

That means that McTominay is also likely to be afforded game time, with United fans hopeful that he’ll be able to replicate his goalscoring antics at club level.

On-loan midfielder Marcel Sabitzer has also impressed during the international break, scoring a stunning free-kick for Austria.
