National Live Music Awards Announce Performer Line-ups Per City – The Music

In two weeks, eight massive (and free) live music events will be held simultaneously across the country to celebrate the National Live Music Awards (NLMAs).

Over 60 awards will be handed out on Wednesday, 11 October, and today, organisers behind the awards have announced the expansive list of performers – many of whom are nominees at this year’s NLMAs.

At Canberra’s UC Hub, ARCHIE (nominated for Best Live Act) will be joined by Best Live Voice nominee Tasha Nauenburg, performing with her band Bad Lunar. In Melbourne, it’s a night of blues, roots, and country, as Best Blues & Roots nominee Sweet Talk will perform alongside Best Country nominee Hana and Jessie-Lee‘s Bad Habits. The Melbourne event at the Music Market will be hosted by SYN Radio’s Mia and Sam of The Hoist program.

At The Great Club in Sydney, which was saved from closure earlier this year, Best Guitarist nominee Chloe Dadd (known for her work with Peach PRC and MAY-A) and Best Folk nominee Melody Pool will perform, while Frontier Touring COO Susan Heymann will be honoured with the Live Legend award.

Siobhan Cotchin and her band – up for two awards, the Best Country Act and Best Live Voice – will lead proceedings at the Perth event held at The Bird, with fellow Best Live Voice nominee, Zimbabwean-born, Perth-raised rapper ANESU. Hobart’s Best Live Act nominee Threats and two nominees for Best Live Voice, Grace Chia and Tasha Zappala, will take over The Simple Complex, while Corey Stephen from Edge Radio will host the event.

Host Amy Hetherington, multiple nominee Caiti Baker and local punk/rock outfit Temperamental will bring the heat to Darwin’s Railway Club. At Adelaide’s Jive Bar, Carla Lippis & Mondo Psycho perform. The Empty Threats and fellow nominees Rocky’s Pride and Joy will also be performing. Three D Radio’s Isaac Selby will be the MC for the night. Lastly, Best Live Voice nominee Jesswar will close proceedings at Brisbane’s Stranded Bar while Buttered opens the night.

More presenters and special guests for the National Live Music Awards will be announced momentarily, with further information about the event on its website.

This year’s NLMAs find King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard and King Stingray gaining six nominations apiece, while Electric Fields have five, four for Genesis Owusu and ACT punks Glitoris, and Amyl & The Sniffers, RVG, Ngaiire, St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival, Cash Savage And The Last Drinks, and Camp Cope are all nominated for three awards.
