The Colorado Street Bridge Party made its return after five years on Saturday, July 15. The longtime tradition brought smoky barbecue, fried sweets and live music back to the iconic Pasadena landmark.
As visitors posed with the vintage cars on display, bands like Jimbonaires and Art Deco Entertainment livened up the mood. Children visiting with parents, got their faces painted, participated in a drum circle and moved massive Jenga blocks from the wobbling tower.
Meanwhile, visitors enjoyed craft beers and specialty cocktails served by local breweries like Craftsman and Eagle Rock to go along with their meals.
Pasadena Heritage’s biennial event was previously put on hold due to the pandemic, but it looks to bring it back with continued hopes of celebrating and preserving the history of Colorado Street Bridge, with all proceeds going toward these efforts across the city.
Since 1978, the event has drawn hundreds of visitors from across the city, and this year was no exception. With the success of the 2023 festivities, all signs point towards an exciting future for the revival of the party.
