Pink, Guns N’ Roses, Morgan Wallen among top concerts to see … – TribLIVE
Pittsburgh is seeing the last of its stadium shows this summer, with four nights of concerts at PNC Park. Here’s a look at the most notable shows coming to the area in August:
August’s top shows
Aug. 5: Pink, Brandi Carlile, Grouplove at PNC Park
Grammy-winning singer Pink brings her Summer Carnival tour to Pittsburgh at what’s expected to be a packed PNC Park.
With songs like “So What” and “Get the Party Started,” Pink has wowed Europe and early shows in the United States on this tour with her high-flying, acrobatic moves while singing.
“Every room I walk into, my heart walks in first. Every lyric that I write is my heart crying, raging hoping, screaming, pleading,” she said earlier this year at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. “You have watched me do this, sifting through life’s messiness for almost 25 years. Some of you find what I do annoying, and some of you find it brave, and I just find it necessary.”

Aug. 18: Guns N’ Roses, The Pretenders at PNC Park
Rock ‘n’ roll bad boys Guns N’ Roses return for another stadium show in Pittsburgh after playing Heinz Field back in 2016.
With three core members — singer Axl Rose, guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan — Guns N’ Roses has seen its share of drama in the past but seems to be somewhat stable now. A new album is reportedly in the works, but don’t expect to see a biopic on the band anytime soon.
“It’s very rare that you see a (rock biopic) movie that actually feels genuine,” Slash told Yahoo Entertainment. “And so I don’t even wanna be a part of all that. I just don’t think that it would be done real justice. I’ve seen a lot of bad (biopics) and they freak me out. … I think the best ones are the ones that are a story that’s almost fictional — that are based off of somebody.”

Aug. 30-31: Morgan Wallen at PNC Park
Controversial country star Morgan Wallen headlines a pair of PNC Park shows that had been postponed from their original June dates because of a vocal injury.
Wallen’s “Last Night” single has been atop country charts for months, and his “One Thing at a Time” album, released in March, has also topped the charts. Yet he’s still shadowed by controversy, after a 2021 video emerged with him using a racial slur.
“I was around some of my friends, and we just … we say dumb stuff together,” Wallen said on “Good Morning America” in 2021. “And it was — in our minds, it’s playful … that sounds ignorant, but it — that’s really where it came from … and it’s wrong.”

Aug. 4: Ted Nugent at Hollywood Casino at the Meadows
Guitarist Ted Nugent may have become famous in the 1970s for songs like “Stranglehold” and “Cat Scratch Fever,” but he’s more known nowadays for being outspoken about guns, hunting and conservative issues.
