Real Madrid Castilla set for summer reshuffle with key players set to leave

Real Madrid Castilla are set for a summer of change, with key players Rafa Marin, Carlos Dotor and Sergio Arribas expected to leave.

Castilla, the side made up of Real Madrid’s brightest prospects, have decided that all three players have come to the end of their three-year cycles with the reserve team of the club.

There is an agreement in the idea of centre-back Marin signing a contract renewal and leave on loan. The length of any new deal and subsequent exit have yet to be discussed, but Marin is keen on Real Betis, while Villarreal and Celta are also interested.

Celta Vigo are well placed to land midfielder Dotor.

The club wants around €4million for 50 per cent of his rights, although other solutions — such as a loan ensuring a certain amount of minutes, with or without a purchase option — have not been ruled out.

Arribas in in demand from several clubs in Spain and abroad, although Madrid want him to play in La Liga.

They are seeking around €10 million for 50 per cent of his rights, but also want to have a say in his future, so a loan to a club that suits his style is also a possibility, with Girona well positioned.

Fellow midfielder Alvaro Martin could also leave his summer, with defender Marvel — talks over a renewal are expected in the coming months — midfielders Mario Martín and Nico Paz, and forward Alvaro Rodríguez set to be the new leaders in Raul’s team.

Raul himself had had no intention of leaving despite Castilla failing to earn promotion to the Segunda Division in the final match of last season. Despite speculation, he is on good terms with the board.

Further summer change is expected in goal, with Luis Lopez set to leave. Mario de Luis, Lucas Canizares and Diego Pineiro will be the main goalkeepers.

Fran Gonzalez will travel with Real Madrid on their pre-season tour, but it is yet to be decided whether he will be in Real Madrid’s C side or in Alvaro Arbeloa’s Juvenil A. Senior coach Carlo Ancelotti has given academy players experience of the summer tour in previous years, but only Gonzalez has been selected this time.

Vinicius Tobias has returned but an agreement has been reached for the right-back to spend another season on loan with Shakhtar Donetsk, with an option to buy for a fee of just over €10million, related to first-team appearances and performances.

Lorenzo Aguado, who excelled in the RSC Internacional last season, will reinforce that position.

Alex Jimenez will leave, despite securing a contract renewal with one of the highest salaries in the academy. The club wants him to go on loan to a Primera RFEF team and the player would prefer to go to a reserve team for a first or second division club.

Bruno Iglesias, who has struggled to reach his potential so far, is also set to depart. Celta B are well positioned and Real Madrid want a loan.

Japanese midfielder Nakai will also leave, while any exit option for Julen Jon Guerrero, son of the legendary Julen Guerrero, will be considered. He is not in Raul’s plans but there have been no concrete offers for him as it stands.
