Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney star in hilarious video with Sir Alex Ferguson as Wrexham pre-season friendly with Manchester United in USA is announced

Ryan Reynolds, Rob McElhenney and Sir Alex Ferguson starred in a hilarious video promoting Wrexham’s summer friendly against Manchester United.

The Red Devils are set to take on the Red Dragons in the USA at the Snapdragon Stadium, San Diego on July 25 as the Hollywood owners continue to use their influence to grow Wrexham as a club.

Shame the Oscars have already come and gone for this year

In the video, the Reynolds and McElhenney are seen sitting down for a video call with legendary former Man United manager.

Before the chat starts, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star McElhenney claims Ferguson is the ‘greatest football manager of all time’ before Reynolds says he’s ‘super nervous’ and warns that Sir Alex is a ‘master intimidator’.

Eventually, the Scotsman answers and the duo attempt to speak to Sir Alex, but a blank and stern stare greets them.

Reynolds believes this is the 81-year-old’s attempt at ‘mind games’.

The Deadpool star then suggests fans of both clubs are going to ‘love’ this proposed friendly in the United States.

There is still no response from the ex-Aberdeen boss, and Reynolds ends the meeting by suggesting his co-owner has a hair appointment in Beverly Hills and that they have to end the call.

The Hollywood stars quickly end the chat and McElhenney states the conversation was ‘terrifying’ before the video switches to Sir Alex’s office.

A woman enters and asks him how the call went, and Ferguson reveals that the Wrexham co-owners were on mute and that he never heard a thing.

The Welsh side will take on one of the biggest teams on the planet at the 35,000-seater Snapdragon Stadium in what should be a momentous occasion later this year.

Reynolds and McElhenney will hope their players don’t get the same stage fright they got when speaking to Sir Alex.
