Even though the *official* announcement that Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) will be released on July 7 was posted on May 5, 2023, Taylor has actually been hinting at the date, repeatedly and not all that subtly, since at least October 21, 2022, when the “Anti-Hero” music video dropped. Then she renewed the SAME DAMN HINT in the “Bejeweled” video (which premiered on October 25, 2022) and AGAIN in the “Lavender Haze” music video (which was released on January 27, 2023).

The hint, in case you didn’t catch it, was that all three videos featured koi fish.

“Anti-Hero”

In the “Anti-Hero” music video, Taylor plays the same koi fish guitar she famously played an acoustic guitar decorated with koi fish on her Speak Now World Tour.

“Bejeweled”

In the “Bejeweled” music video, there are koi fish in the stained glass window in the castle Taylor keeps after dumping the prince.

“Lavender Haze”

And koi fish appear multiple times in the “Lavender Haze” video, including on the TV screen with the weather report:

So, yeah. Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is coming out on July 7, aka National Koi Fish Day.
