The Ministry of Emergency Situations told how the search for Russians killed in Hatay, Turkey was going on
Deputy Director of the Department of Rescue Teams of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia Petr Gritsenko spoke about how the rubble was cleared in the Turkish Hatay, during which the bodies of two Russians were found.
“Russian rescuers have been working around the clock for more than two days to search for people and clear the rubble. Making their way through the floors of a multi-storey building, they found a dead Russian woman and her child on the first floor, ”he said.
Gritsenko added that two dead Turkish women were also found. Search and rescue operations are ongoing, he said.

The element claimed the lives of one and a half thousand people, and its echoes were felt in several other countries.
The fact that in the Turkish province of Hatay, a family from Moscow turned out to be under the rubble of one of the houses – a husband and wife and two children aged 2.5 and 4 years, became known on February 8. Local residents who used thermal imagers claimed that the Russians were alive and that a crane was needed to reach them. However, the Turkish Ministry of Emergency Situations announced a lack of forces and equipment and put the family on a “waiting list”. Two days later, rescuers found the bodies of a woman and a child.
On February 9, cynological crews of the Russian Emergencies Ministry in Khatai rescued two other people – a woman and a man, a citizen of Turkey. They received medical attention.
Seismologists recorded an earthquake of magnitude 7.7 on the night of February 6 near the Turkish city of Gaziantep, located near the Syrian border. In the afternoon there was another earthquake of magnitude 7.6. Since the first earthquake, at least 285 aftershocks have been registered in the country. Most of the aftershocks were recorded in the central part of Turkey.
