After an opening weekend of exciting and drama-filled football, the Premier League returned with a bang on Saturday for matchday two.
Five matches from up and down the country took place a day on from Nottingham Forest’s late 2-1 win over Sheffield United.

Liverpool came from behind early on to beat Bournemouth 3-1 at home despite Alexis Mac Allister’s red card.
Brighton waved goodbye to £115million Moises Caicedo during the week, but hit Wolves for four on their travels, with Brentford relishing a 3-0 win against west London rivals Fulham.
Tottenham started the evening’s action by beating Manchester United, before Manchester City secured a 1-0 victory over Newcastle.

Spurs youth could set up a successful spell for Ange Postecoglou
The visit of United in Postecoglou’s first competitive home game as boss presented a huge test, but it’s one that Spurs certainly passed.
Lisandro Martinez’s own goal sealed a deserved 2-0 win after an opener and first for the club from Pape Matar Sarr, a youngster who could prove key for years to come.
Speaking exclusively to talkSPORT on the 20-year-old afterwards, the Spurs boss said: “He’s been outstanding from the moment I arrived, he’s such a talent, he’s got bags of energy but some real ability within that.
“You saw today his ability to carry the ball forward, to break lines, with and without the ball he’s a really progressive kind of player and causes the opposition problems.

“You wouldn’t know he’s 20, he’s one of those, he’s constantly got a smile on his face and he loves what he does.
“Destiny [Udogie] who’s only 20, Mickey van de Ven is only 22, Pedro Porro is only 23, that’s the exciting bit for me, we’ve got a really exciting core group of young talent and now we’ve got to keep turning that.”
Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa are vital for Brentford
Given Ivan Toney’s absence from football until January, it wouldn’t be harsh to suggest Brentford could struggle up front without him.
However, Mbeumo and Wissa proved once again on Saturday that they could be the men to fill the void for the first half of the season.
The former netted from the spot against Spurs and did so for a second time, this time on their travels to Fulham as the Bees beat the now Aleksandar Mitrovic-less Cottagers.

Mbeumo bagged the third and final goal of the game in second half stoppage time, with Wissa netting just before the break to ensure Thomas Frank avoids an attacking headache without Toney.
Dominik Szoboszlai leaves Anfield purring
The additions of Mac Allister and Szoboszlai to the Liverpool midfield will certainly be a welcomed refresh this season.
It was the former who played a key role in their goal away at Chelsea last Sunday but he saw red this time round, allowing time for the latter to shine for the Reds instead.

Szoboszlai showcased his immense and accurate range of passing on his Anfield debut with the visit of Bournemouth, ensuring that Jurgen Klopp’s attackers can be fed the ball with precision.
The Hungarian was also on hand to win a penalty for Liverpool after Luis Diaz’s equaliser, one that Mohamed Salah initially missed before tapping in the rebound en route to all three points.
No Caicedo? No problem for Brighton
Last weekend it was Luton who felt the wrath of a Brighton side that continue to exceed expectations, and this time round it was Wolves’ turn to fall to a heavy defeat against Roberto De Zerbi’s side.
The Seagulls said goodbye to Caicedo as he completed a British record move to Chelsea but they once again proved that even if huge talent departs, they can still produce the goods.

Kaoru Mitoma’s stunning goal kicked off a comfortable 4-1 win for Brighton as Pervis Estupinan’s early second half goal and Solly March’s brace took them to the top of the table.
Such a win has seen them score four goals in consecutive Premier League games for the first time in their history, with more surely set to come this season following another impressive performance.
