American rapper Common recently sat down for an interview with Men’s Health Magazine. During the same, he touched base on a moment that took place back in 2020, during the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game. He revealed how, with the game nearing its end, the rapper was chosen to make the free throws that would secure the win for his team.

Highlighting a picture that had been taken prior to the game, Common could be seen having a pleasant moment with the six-time NBA champion, Michael Jordan.

When I greeted him, he told me to stick to rapping,” Common recalled during the interview. The $5o million worth artist was surprised that Jordan trash-talked him despite the fact that he played a good game.

“He grounded me in this picture for sure” Common added at the end. However, Jordan’s criticism may have something to do with his feelings for rap music.

An incident prompted N.O.R.E. to claim that Jordan “hurt my heart”

Reports that the Chicago Bulls legend may not be a big fan of hip-hop first came out only a few months ago.

It started when 45-year-old American rapper N.O.R.E. sat down for an interview with ‘RapRadar’. He touched base on an incident involving Jordan from a Def Jam Christmas Party many years ago. The prominent hip-hop duo of Method Man & Redman wanted to have a word with Michael Jordan. N.O.R.E. tagged along.

We were all sitting there ready to speak to Michael Jordan. And someone said ‘Yo, Redman and Method Man are here’. He said, ‘f**k rap,’” recalled the rapper.

N.O.R.E.’s story was enough to send his interviewers, Elliott Wilson and Brian Miller, into a fit of laughter. “He was like ‘f**k rap’. It hurt my heart,” N.O.R.E. said.
