Monday Night Blues

Agent Orange

Palafox St. Agent Orange, the original Southern California punk/surf power trio, is one of only a handful of bands who have been continually active since the earliest days of the West Coast punk scene. A small circle of musical rebels who came together to form a movement, they took their place front and center to experience and participate in the explosion of now legendary underground music that was created during the golden era of American punk rock. Bands on the Beach
7 p.m. Tuesday, May 2. Gulfside Pavilion at Casino Beach, Pensacola Beach. Pensacola Beach’s popular outdoor summer concert series with performers for every musical taste. Featuring a lineup of regional artists, Bands on the Beach delivers an eclectic musical experience throughout the entire summer. This week features the Jessie Ritter. 18th annual Spring Fling
10 a.m. Thursday, May 4. St. Sylvester Catholic Church, 6464 Gulf Breeze Parkway. Navarre Garden Club’s Spring Fling Luncheon features samples of cuisine from some of Navarre’s favorite restaurants, shopping for spring plants, garden items, local art, vendors and the opportunity to win raffle and attendance prizes. May the Fourth Be With You
Noon Thursday, May 4. Perfect Plain Brewing Co., 50 E. Garden St. Perfect Plain Brewing Co. and Garden & Grain is hosting their fifth annual Star Wars Day Celebration with their annual Star Wars beer release, Binary Sunset DIPA, Star Wars-themed cocktails, trivia, and a costume contest. Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival
5 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. Friday and Saturday, May 4 through 6. OWA Parks & Resort festival grounds, 100 N. OWA Blvd., Foley, Alabama. Foley is the spot for high-flying adventure and family fun at the Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival. Enjoy the entertainment, arts and crafts displays and more at the festival site daily. Balloon flights, glows and tethered rides (weather permitting) add to the fun at dawn and dusk. While admission is free, there are packages offered to make the experience more enjoyable. Pensacola Tattoo Expo
1 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 5 through 7. Pensacola Interstate Fairgrounds, 6655 W. Mobile Highway. Ink Masters hosts the sixth annual Pensacola Tattoo Expo featuring over 100 talented tattoo artists at one location. Hot Glass Cold Brew: Caribbean Nights
6 p.m. Friday, May 5. First City Art Center, 1060 N. Guillemard St. Organizers of Hot Glass Cold Brew are excited to see friends return and new faces join for a memorable evening celebrating art, community, and supporting local artists. Entertainment for the evening includes glass blowing and pottery demonstrations, live music from Bangarang Peter, an art market, kids activities, and a gallery opening showcasing works from First City’s Gallery 1060 artists. SATURDAY
Rosamond Johnson Beach Day Ceremony
10 a.m. Saturday, May 6. Johnson Beach, Gulf Islands National Seashore, Perdido Key. After enlisting in the US Army at 15, Rosamond Johnson died in combat two years later on the Korean Peninsula. While engaged with the enemy, on July 26, 1950, Private Johnson carried two wounded soldiers to safety. He was fatally wounded while attempting to save a third wounded man. For over a decade, the Perdido Key Chamber of Commerce has invited the Johnson family, local and national dignitaries, and the public to the beach to honor the memory of this local hero. In honor of the sacrifice paid by Private Johnson and his family, the National Park Service waives entrance fees to Johnson Beach from 9 am to noon for attendees of the annual commemoration ceremony. Spring Juried Arts & Crafts Show
10 a.m. Saturday, May 6. Sanders Beach-Corinne Jones Resource Center, 913 South I St. Shop local from vendors who have been selected by a jury and discover unique, handmade crafts, art and baked goods. Perdido Key Music Festival

The Perdido Key Music Fest features food trucks open from 2 to 10 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 10 p.m. Sunday with food by the Cocamoke Smoke BBQ Food Truck and Beachin’ Eats Food Truck & Catering. Junior Iron Chef Competition
Noon Sunday, May 7. Ever’man Cooperative Grocery and Café, 350 W. Garden St. The Junior League of Pensacola is hosting the Junior Iron Chef Competition. This event will showcase the culinary skills of young chefs from across the region, as they compete for the title of Junior Iron Chef. Young chefs will compete in teams, using locally-sourced ingredients to create healthy, delicious, and visually appealing dishes. A panel of judges, including local chefs and food experts, will evaluate the dishes based on taste, presentation, and creativity, and award prizes to the top-performing teams. Free.
